:Cd:C:\Achievements
Welcome! I'm on a never-ending journey of entering the exciting world of cybersecurity. As my knowledge grows, I hope to add to my list of achievements and one day give back to the cybersecurity community as a whole. I have earned multiple College Degrees and am continuously working on earning Certifications.
Bachelor of Science, Computer Security Technology
I received this degree in June 2024 from Farmingdale State University in New York. In this program, I learned several skills, such as various programming languages, database management, and some of the essentials of network and cybersecurity. There were several courses that were not only particularly interesting but also provided me with skills that will be very helpful in the future.
Associate in Applied Science, InfoTech:ComputerInfoSyst-AAS-W
I received this degree in June 2022 from Suffolk Community College in Brentwood, New York. During my studies, I learned several skills, including webpage development, Microsoft Access database development, and circuit building. As with all colleges, there were several courses> that were particularly interesting and helpful for my potential future.
After I achieved my degree, I still wanted to learn more about our field. My goal is not only to expand on my knowledge but also to learn more about each of the different specializations in cybersecurity. While there are certifications that I have completed, I try to always work on a certification in the background.
CPS 305 and 401 focused on the principles and practical applications of cryptography, focusing on both the theoretical and mathematical underpinnings essential for understanding modern cryptosystems.
The courses EET 440T and 441T provided an exploration of data communications and networking, covering both fundamental and advanced concepts. Important topics included learning various network models, such as the OSI model, and overall network architecture. There was a particular focus on Cisco routing protocols and network architecture. These courses are essential for the field of network administration.
CPS 325 and 461 covered many potential vulnerabilities in various systems, including the ability to view a system from the attacker’s point of view. I studied multiple tools, such as Splunk and Jack the Ripper, to understand their capabilities and when they are typically implemented. It is important to understand the system and the potential methods of attack when securing a defense.
In BCS 350, I went more in-depth on how to use database structures, such as SQL query language, to develop and maintain content for a website. This includes securing the databases from various forms of attacks, such as SQL injection.
In CST141 and CST242, I learned in-depth programming principles in JavaScript. This includes basics such as variable properties and more advanced topics like multithreading and processing objects. In CST161, I learned specific coding principles for webpage development.
In CST171 and CST272, I learned how to combine programming languages with database systems. The particular focus of these classes was on creating Microsoft Access databases and establishing valid connections with HTML programs.
While COM105 isn’t a technology-related course, it was useful for sharpening my communication skills. In any position, it is important to communicate your ideas effectively and clearly.
During my internship course CST288 at a caregiving company previously known as ExtendaTouch, I was the head of their YouTube division. My responsibilities included increasing web traffic for their channel by analyzing their analytics and competitors. I was able to increase overall traffic by 15%.
Google Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate
One of the first Certificates that I decided to complete. This certificate was not only a great review on what I learned in school, but helped reinforce some fundamental concepts and introduced some more common hands-on tools commonly used such as manuals.
Google IT Support Professional Certificate
This certificate covers topics such as It covers essential topics like troubleshooting, networking, system administration, and security. With this certification I will be able to know more about how IT support proffesional job works as I enter the workforce.
